The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS), in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), is organising the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 across more than 150 locations in 91 countries. This unique initiative, being held as part of Seva Pakhwada (17 September – 2 October), aims to inspire collective action for nation-building and reaffirm the global Indian diaspora’s commitment to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

A Global Community Run with a Mission

The Viksit Bharat Run 2025 carries the powerful tagline “Run to Serve the Nation”, embodying both fitness and service to society. Designed as a 3–5 km community run, the event will be held at iconic global landmarks and accessible community hubs, making it a worldwide celebration of India’s values of Seva Bhav (spirit of service), sustainability, and inclusivity.

The majority of the runs are scheduled for 28th September 2025, marking a synchronised global mobilisation of Indian youth, diaspora communities, and local participants.

Iconic Locations Across the World

The run will span some of the world’s most celebrated monuments and locations, such as:

  • Mexico City’s Angel of Independence

  • UNESCO World Heritage Site in Paramaribo, Suriname

  • Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco

  • Other iconic and easily accessible spots across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania

By choosing such globally recognised venues, the event aims to symbolise India’s rising global presence while fostering unity and inclusivity.

Activities Beyond the Run

The Viksit Bharat Run 2025 goes beyond fitness to integrate meaningful pledges, environmental action, and community-building initiatives. Participants will:

  • Take the Viksit Bharat Pledge and the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge, committing themselves to India’s growth story

  • Join the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive, aligning with environmental sustainability

  • Connect with the MY Bharat portal, offering opportunities for volunteering, youth programs, and experiential learning

  • Engage with diaspora communities, local citizens, and cultural bodies, promoting intercultural understanding and youth mobilisation

  • Interact with local leaders and dignitaries invited as Chief Guests to showcase India’s development achievements

Strengthening Diaspora Bonds and India’s Growth Story

This landmark initiative is one of the largest global outreach campaigns ever organised by India. It not only highlights fitness and community service but also strengthens the bonds between India and its diaspora. By mobilising youth worldwide, the run underscores India’s commitment to service-oriented initiatives, sustainability, and inclusivity while amplifying India’s growth narrative on a global stage.

Following the run, Indian Missions across the world will upload photos and videos of the activities on the MY Bharat portal, creating a shared digital record of the campaign’s success and impact.
