The Congress-led government in Telangana has rolled out two major welfare initiatives aimed at providing financial support and promoting self-employment among marginalised minority communities. The schemes, inaugurated by Adluri Laxman Kumar, Minister for SC, ST, and Minorities Welfare, were launched on Friday at the state secretariat.

Two New Welfare Schemes for Minorities
The newly introduced schemes are designed to empower women, widows, and weaker sections of minority groups by extending direct financial assistance. The initiatives launched include:

  1. Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana – Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹50,000 will be provided to widows, divorcees, orphans, and unmarried women belonging to economically weaker sections. The goal is to help beneficiaries achieve self-employment and financial independence.

  2. Revanth Anna ka Sahara – Miskeen la Kosam – This scheme focuses on uplifting specific marginalised communities. A grant of ₹1 lakh will be extended to individuals belonging to the Fakeer and Dudekula communities.

Online Registration Only
A dedicated portal — tgobmms.cgg.gov.in — has been created to facilitate online registration for both schemes. The minister clarified that applications will not be accepted offline, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the process. The online registration process has already started and will remain open until October 6, 2025.

Budget Allocation and Future Plans
The Telangana government has allocated ₹30 crore for the implementation of these two schemes. Speaking at the launch, Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar highlighted that the government under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is committed to introducing more innovative initiatives aimed at minority welfare and inclusive growth.

A Step Towards Inclusive Development
These welfare schemes are part of the Congress government’s broader vision of creating equal opportunities for all sections of society. By targeting financial support towards minority women, widows, and weaker communities, the government aims to promote self-reliance, reduce poverty, and foster inclusive economic participation.
