The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is actively continuing the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan”, a nationwide campaign being observed from 17th September to 2nd October 2025. Launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the initiative is aimed at strengthening women’s health, promoting early disease detection, and empowering families to adopt healthier lifestyles. The Abhiyaan also aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a healthier, empowered society contributing to Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Health Camps and Awareness Activities Nationwide
The Abhiyaan is being implemented across Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, ESIC hospitals, community health centres, and primary health centres, with a focus on preventive health check-ups, screenings, and awareness sessions. These activities target key health issues such as anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, tuberculosis, nutrition, maternal care, and cancers among women.
Health Initiatives at ESIC Medical College PGIMSR and Model Hospital, Bengaluru
On 20th September 2025, ESIC Medical College PGIMSR and Model Hospital, Rajajinagar, Bengaluru organised a comprehensive health check-up and awareness programme.

120 beneficiaries including Safai Mitras and insured women were screened.

Conditions detected: 7 diabetic cases, 5 hypertensive cases, 13 anaemia cases, 40 suspected oral cancer cases, 16 suspected breast cancer cases, and 5 suspected cervical cancer cases.

Awareness sessions were conducted on tuberculosis, nutrition, anaemia, and non-communicable diseases, along with yoga demonstrations and millet-based nutrition awareness.

A blood donation camp collected 22 units, while outreach activities in urban and rural health centres ensured wider community participation.
ESIC Hospital, Tiruppur: Screening and Preventive Care for Women
On 21st September 2025, ESIC Hospital, Tiruppur organised a special camp for insured women above 30 years.

44 women underwent screenings including blood pressure, sugar levels, haemoglobin estimation, and cancer screenings.

Cases identified: 11 suspected hypertension, 13 suspected diabetes, and 2 anaemia cases.

Pap smear tests, lifestyle counselling, and awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene, immunisation, and nutrition were also conducted.
ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana: Awareness and Screening Camps
At Ludhiana, ESIC conducted three awareness sessions on menstrual hygiene, immunisation, and nutrition.

Pregnant women were screened, provided diet advice, and given medicines.

21 women were screened for cervical and breast cancer, and 25 beneficiaries underwent anaemia, hypertension, and diabetes screening.

Oral cancer screening and antenatal registrations further expanded preventive healthcare reach.
ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Alwar: Promoting Preventive Health
On the same day, Alwar’s ESIC Hospital hosted a large-scale camp:

Screenings covered 113 for hypertension, 110 for diabetes, 110 for haemoglobin levels, 52 for breast cancer, 113 for oral cancer, and 4 for cervical cancer.

A health talk by Dr. Deepika Verma highlighted the importance of cervical cancer prevention and screening.

An outreach camp at ESIC Hospital Campus, Desoola, Alwar, saw 102 participants, including staff and frontline workers. Sessions included Basic Life Support (BLS) training, lifestyle counselling, vaccination, and nutrition awareness.

Through these extensive activities, the Abhiyaan is not only detecting early cases of critical illnesses but also educating women and communities about preventive healthcare. By empowering women with health awareness, ESIC is ensuring that families too adopt healthier lifestyles—truly realising the campaign’s vision: “Healthy Women, Empowered Families.”
