The Department of Defence (DoD) has initiated the implementation phase of Special Campaign 5.0 under the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The campaign, running from October 2 to 31, 2025, is themed around “Disposal of E-Waste”, highlighting the importance of responsible electronic waste management and sustainability.
Focus on E-Waste Management and Wealth Generation
This year’s theme, ‘Disposal of E-Waste’, aims to systematically identify and dispose of obsolete IT and electronic equipment across various defence offices and establishments. The campaign not only focuses on cleaning and decluttering but also emphasizes “wealth from waste”—turning discarded electronic items into resources that can be recycled or reused in an environmentally responsible manner.
