Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan: CCRAS Launches National Preventive Health Campaign through Ayurveda

Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan:
Spread the love

In a landmark step toward preventive healthcare and holistic well-being, the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS)—the apex body of the Ministry of Ayush—is set to roll out the ‘Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan’ campaign nationwide. The initiative, launched during the 10th Ayurveda Day celebrations in Goa, aims to encourage citizens to assess their health status and adopt Ayurveda-based lifestyle practices for long-term wellness.

Launch of the Campaign
The launch event in Goa witnessed the presence of Governor of Goa Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, and Secretary, Ministry of Ayush Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Prataprao Jadhav emphasized that “Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan” is not just an assessment drive—it represents a national awakening towards preventive health. The initiative, he said, brings Ayurveda’s timeless wisdom into daily life in a scientific and accessible way, encouraging citizens to take charge of their own health.

Objective and Scope
The campaign’s primary goal is to empower citizens with health awareness and promote preventive health practices rooted in Ayurveda. It will reach every corner of India through a vast network that includes:

  • CCRAS research institutes across India

  • Ayurveda teaching colleges under the National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine (NCISM)

  • Partner institutions under the National Ayush Mission (NAM)

  • State-level Ayurveda centers and community health facilities

Ayurveda-Based Health Assessment Tool
At the heart of this campaign lies the CCRAS Swasthya Assessment Scale, an innovative software tool based on Ayurvedic principles. It allows physicians to evaluate an individual’s health using a structured questionnaire derived from classical Ayurvedic texts. The tool assesses key health indicators such as Prakriti (constitution), Agni (digestive strength), Bala (strength), and Manas (mental balance)—providing a comprehensive understanding of one’s physical and mental well-being.

Integration of Tradition and Technology
Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General, CCRAS, highlighted that this initiative is a pioneering step in integrating Ayurveda with modern digital tools. The structured evaluation not only enhances health awareness among citizens but also generates valuable nationwide data on public health trends. This evidence-based approach aligns ancient knowledge with modern health needs, making preventive care more systematic and measurable.

Nationwide Participation and Impact
The campaign is expected to see wide participation from Ayurveda practitioners, students, health professionals, and citizens. Public events, workshops, and health awareness drives will be organized to help individuals understand their health parameters and adopt Ayurveda-recommended diet and lifestyle choices.

A People’s Movement for Holistic Health
The “Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan” campaign aspires to evolve into one of the largest preventive health awareness movements in India. By integrating traditional wisdom with modern methodologies, the initiative embodies India’s vision of “Swasth Bharat”—a nation where every citizen embraces holistic health, self-awareness, and balanced living.

Conclusion
The launch of Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan marks a significant step toward making preventive healthcare an integral part of Indian life. With CCRAS leading the implementation and Ayurveda providing the foundation, this campaign is not just about health assessment—it’s about transforming the nation’s health consciousness and reaffirming India’s leadership in holistic well-being.
