The 18th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Exhibition 2025 concluded today in Gurugram, Haryana, marking three days of dynamic discussions, innovation showcases, and recognition of excellence in urban transport across India. The event witnessed the participation of top policymakers, experts, and representatives from India and abroad, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive urban mobility.
Hon’ble Minister Shri Manohar Lal Launches PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme Logo and Website
The valedictory session was graced by Shri Manohar Lal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Power, who launched the logo and website of the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme. The event was attended by Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Chief Minister of Haryana; Shri Tokhan Sahu, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs; Shri Srinivas Katikithala, Secretary, MoHUA; and other senior officials from the Government of India and Government of Haryana.
Three Days of Insightful Sessions and Global Participation
The conference featured a rich agenda, including one conclave session, two plenary sessions (including a mayoral session), eight technical sessions, eight roundtables, and eight research symposia.
Over 170 speakers and 1,600 delegates from 8 countries participated, while 25 exhibitors showcased cutting-edge solutions in the exhibition area.
Key Address by Hon’ble Minister Shri Manohar Lal
In his valedictory address, Shri Manohar Lal highlighted the need to begin urban mobility planning for Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities today, ensuring they evolve into well-planned, future-ready Tier-1 cities. He emphasized expanding the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) model beyond Delhi-NCR to major metropolitan regions like Chennai, Mumbai, and Bengaluru to enhance regional connectivity and reduce travel times.
He also proposed the introduction of premium or luxury compartments in metro systems to attract high-income passengers and make public transport more aspirational and self-sustaining.
The Minister announced that the 19th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Exhibition 2026 will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from 23rd to 25th October 2026.

The conference concluded with the presentation of awards recognizing outstanding urban transport initiatives across the country. A total of eight award categories were conferred, acknowledging excellence in areas like public transport, non-motorized mobility, green initiatives, and innovative financing.
